Power of Don’t – Communication and Leadership Excellence This presentation focuses on how the human mind is divided into two basic aspects, the conscious and subconscious mind. POD will give the participants a new understanding on how these two aspects of the human psyche work with each other and how to ensure training and mentorship are completed properly to ensure long term memory recall. With the tools the participants gain they will be able to relay information better, increase the success of learning and decrease the time spent on training and information delivery. Behind the Scenes Facilities Tour and Networking Event at OMSI Please join us Thursday, May 18th for a fun, behind the scenes tour of OMSI from a risk management perspective. We’ll tour the general operations of OMSI and get an idea of how the safety of guests and employees are managed in such a unique environment. We’re excited to have OMSI’s Safety, Health, and Security Manager Grant Vondrachek show us around their facility and discuss how they plan for emergencies, fires, earthquakes, and the like. Following our 30 - 45 minute tour, we’ll have a networking happy hour with food and drinks at OMSI’s Theory Patio space. It should be a great time! Come join us on Thursday, August 24th at the beautiful Langdon Farms Golf Club for the 20th Annual Oregon Chapter of RIMS Golf Tournament. Registration opens at 11:30am, come for lunch, hit balls on the range, practice your putting, and catch up with old and new friends/contacts. The annual scramble-style tournament is the most important networking event of the year. The day starts with a delicious boxed lunch, 18 holes of golf, followed by dinner, drinks, and prizes. OR RIMS October Event: “US Insurance Landscape: Key Trends” presented by Sean Kevelighan Sean Kevelighan joined the Insurance Information Institute as President and Chief Executive Officer in August 2016.  Previously, he was Group Head of Public Affairs for Zurich Insurance Group where he oversaw Government and Industry Affairs as well as Corporate Responsibility.  He has served in various public sector posts in Washington, D.C. as a political appointee in the administration of President George W. Bush, he served first in the Department of Treasury as a spokesperson for economic issues. He was also the Press Secretary for the White House Office of Management and Budget.
